34 Participate in 2012 Leadership Academy in Character Education
The 2012 Sanford N. McDonnell Leadership Academy for Character Education (LACE) kicked off in mid-January with a cohort of 34 local school leaders representing 13 Missouri districts, three Illinois districts, one charter school and two private schools. The group includes nine principals and 18 assistant principals who will spend the year together exploring character education in a series of monthly full-day workshops. Dean Basile welcomed the group on Jan. 17 in the MSEC Boeing Room. The academy, directed by Marvin Berkowitz in partnership with Characterplus of the Cooperating School Districts of St. Louis, provides principals and assistant principals with the knowledge base, resources and skills to implement comprehensive character education throughout their school community.
