Math Science Education Central (MSEC) Grand Opening

The Grand Opening of Math Science Education Central (MSEC), the math/science extension of the Technology and Learning Center, was a glorious event today. Our primary donors were there — Monsanto, Sigma-Aldrich, MasterCard, and Boeing. Also, note the photo of Chancellor George, as his contribution to this project exceeded all others!
You’ll also undoubtedly notice the photo of Carl with Tom Scott and Brad Roane of KBR who built the facility. Tom and Brad gave MSEC a new barbecue grill for the deck!

Greetings from the new Math and Science Education Central Coordinator and Postdoctoral Fellow
I am the new Postdoctoral Fellow and Coordinator of Math and Science Education Central (MSEC) in the TLC. I will be developing programs with the Science Center, teaching, and overseeing the development and day-to-day operations of MSEC. I hope to be a regular contributor to the COE Exchange. MSEC news and activities will be advertised on the COE Exchange.
New Math Science Education Central
The new $900,000 Math Science Education Central (MSEC) facility will become a reality this year. MSEC is an extension of the College’s award winning E. Desmond Lee Technology and Learning Center. This will be a model space for education students to learn best practices in PreK-12 science, mathematics and technology education. A collaborative effort — with resources coming from the , , , Chancellor Tom George, the College of Education, and the — the space will feature state-of-the-art equipment, labs, resources and technologies that foster creative, inquiry-based teaching and learning in science and mathematics.
