Alina Slapac and Virginia Navarro are co-authors on an article, Fledgling Steps to Global Self-Awareness for Preservice Teachers Abroad in the March 2013 Journal for Meaning-Centered Education (JMCE). This basic qualitative research study investigates how intercultural experiences and teaching transformed 25 preservice teachers’ ideas about pedagogy, English language learners, and identities as both national and global citizens. In addition, Slapac and Navarro were co-presenters of Case Studies: Bounding Phenomenon for Inquiry, at the 9th Qualitative Research Conference held in early March at UMSL .
