COE Students Earn Kudos
Racioppi-Myers Presents at International Conference
Ed.D. candidate Felicita Racioppi-Myers presented her paper, Consumerism in Higher Education: The Dichotomy between Students as Learners and Students as Consumers and how Higher Education Institutions must Decide to Whom They Cater, at last month’s Quality in Postgraduate Research (QPR) Conference in Adelaide, South Australia. QPR brings together scholars, practitioners, policy-makers, managers and university leaders involved in the development and delivery of doctoral education. Myers also serves as an academic adviser in the COE. Her research focuses on higher education student services, a reflection of her knowledge and understanding of the student as customer and learner.
COE doctoral counseling student Jennifer Culver has been selected as a 2014 Shear Fellow by the Sue Shear Institute. The institute encourages women to participate in leadership positions within their academic fields and in public policy. Culver will represent UMSL in the Sue Shear Institute Academy this summer where she will enhance her leadership skills and advocacy around organizational involvement.
