Doctoral Student Presents Paper at Literacy Conference
Meredith Labadie, doctoral student in the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, TESOL, and Special Education (ECETS), recently presented a paper at the annual meeting of the Literacy Research Association.
Her presentation, How Kindergarten Students Connect and Critically Respond to Themes of Social Class in Children’s Literature, was part of a session titled Expanding the Views and Purposes of Literacy in the Primary Grades, (LRA Conference, 2012, San Diego, CA). Co-authors on the paper are Kathryn Pole, University of Texas-Arlington and Rebecca Rogers, University of Missouri-St. Louis.
