COE Hosts Second Speakeasy Urban Education
What does urban education mean to you? The Circle of Educators, in collaboration with a group of faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences, under the leadership of Dr. Patricia Parker, along with colleagues from KM Educational Design and CCB Consulting who are administrators in the Jennings School District (and also UMSL alumni), have planned an evening of thoughtful discussion and exchange of ideas related to this question at the second Speakeasy Urban Education.

Held on June 11 in the Ed Collabitat from 5:30-7:00 PM, the event will be open mic style and will allow participants the opportunity to express thoughts about urban education and listen with the intent of dialogue and understanding. The evening promises to be a productive, educative and thought-provoking time. Adult beverages and light snacks will be served.
The Circle of Educators, the College of Education’s recently formed alumni group, aims to expand on the traditional alumni experience by exploring educational issues through periodic seminars. Events are planned each semester that facilitate discussion on relevant topics including the impact of diversity on teaching all learners. The partnerships created help strengthen alumni’s connections with current students and to the College and its future.
